Who is
Glance The Designer
Starting as a poet, the musician's name, just a glance, grew to admire high-quality design aesthetics. This admiration grew even more once his military service ended in 2012. "I always wanted to appear ahead of my peers in music by attention to detail. I may not have the most songs, but I had the best quality." This kind of practice can grow to be very expensive for an artist, causing him to pursue an education in the creative field. Though he graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2021, his design journey started humbly in his hometown of south Florida at The Art Institute of ft Lauderdale with a major in Industrial Design.

After attending AIFL for two years, a few teachers at the school recommended that he work towards a bachelor's at SCAD. With two letters of recommendation and a very early portfolio, he got accepted into the University of Creative Careers in Savannah, GA, where he engaged in school clubs and community activities under the alias glance.
I was never an A student and never wanted to give off that idea. I struggled in school. What was easy for me at AIFL was extremely challenging at SCAD. Both are great institutions, but SCAD had a larger population with various cultures and classes. I did my best to maintain a B average.
“I always wanted to design headphones and sunglasses since I was a child in the 90s. The kids who knew me in elementary always said I would be an inventor of sorts someday.”
Phantom was a game design group project I did with a few classmates.
This is another example of a group project I did in school, but this project was significant to me and my career as a designer. My classmates and I set out to create a tool to help others understand the most uncomplicated way of what service design is. We brainstormed for weeks to come to this final idea that was so innovative we won several awards, including a Reddot award and a Silver European Design award.
This group project consisted of an entire class of about 20 students. Service designers, Product designers, and Graphic designers all came together to create services for local nonprofit businesses. We curated activities for volunteers and made merch to sell, all while documenting the process of developing a case study as a deliverable.
My favorite design I've done as a student. I did this entire project alone with little assistance to ensure the final product was right. This project was my exploration into UX design but from a full-service design approach to developing unique service offerings. In the future, I will document the process of making this project a reality as I build my skill along the way.
