Just A Glance | The Evolution

Just A Glance is an original and innovative hip-hop/rap/reggae artist who grew up in both Florida and Jamaica. Going to school in both cultures immersed him in both traditions and taught him to identify the differences between them. The music he creates with his producer D-Sine Beats has been compared to Drake, Rick Ross, and Kendrick Lamar but most listeners notice his originality over his influences, a fact in which he takes pride. His debut record, III, is now available on all streaming platforms and is the first chapter in his ongoing narrative of rhyme.

His Motivations are Different

Just A Glance is a humbled spirit who has been waiting to change the world for a long time. Deeper water than most, he is also a Product Designer, a Service Designer, and a military veteran who’s been deployed twice to Iraq. He refuses to be just another performer perpetuating negative stereotypes, preferring to be a creative force showing people that real change is possible and that today's poets can become tomorrow's politicians. He is ready and willing to sacrifice himself to ensure the betterment of the next generation. Music fans seeking a better grade of lyrical skills that are tied to positive intentions need to encounter his music today.

Glance isn’t motivated to make music by the shallow pleasures of money and fame but by the sole purpose of making other people feel something. He is the embodiment of that cold shiver that runs down your spine when you hear a great song, and his goal is to make listeners experience and see the things he says. He is the epitome of cool, a status that’s not proclaimed but is given. He never misses a beat and always goes against the grain. His original inspiration came from Nas, but he also drew knowledge from Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Andre 3000, Lauryn Hill, and Damian Marley.

Whats Next

If anyone I know can tell you, the truth is good music takes time. I’ve tried not to fall victim to perfectionism, all while finishing my educational journey. All that to say, I am still here, creating, challenging the perception of Black and Excellence, and I am still in my bag. I currently have an exclusive project on apple music titled Ill. Much more to come, so stay tuned.
